“Final Fantasy XV” has designed a system of gaining experience points (EXP) and ability points (AP) in order for the playable character, Noctis, and his party comprised of Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto level up as they go along their adventures.

There are several various ways of racking up experience and ability points. But randomly killing daemons (monsters in the world of “Final Fantasy XV”) will only consume so much time that anybody would grow sick of grinding just to level up. Fortunately, in this “Final Fantasy” game, it has introduced a new feature of leveling up and that is to let the characters rest. Players are forced to use caravans, hotels, and even build camps to level up in this video game.

Use Caravan Trailers or Hotels When Leveling Up

The most logical thing to do when Noctis and his party have to level up is to make use of the trailers and hotels situated in various points in the map. The reason is because these lodgings give additional experience points. The caravan multiplies the experience points earned by a quarter, the 300-Gil hotels rake in half more, and the expensive ones like the hotel in Galdin Quay, multiplies the party’s experience points by two.

Only use the camps when the party needs to use status boosts since Ignis can only cook during camp outs. Earn at least 10,000 EXP before resting in the paid lodgings to make the most out the perks. Doing so will make Noctis and his party level up faster.

Complete Quests In One Area Before Heading To Another

To save time and to accumulate more experience points, one should know how to use the locations. Running around back and forth, whether it's part of the story or just a side quest, isn't going to be good for anyone. Complete all the nearby quests first. If the quest needs to take Noctis to another location, skip that first and finish off every quest in the current area. When done, go ahead on to the next location while being assigned with another quest that is also within the next location. Make sure to rack in quests to save time and not to take them one by one.

Activate Skills and Find Hidden Quests

Noctis can activate skills through the ascension menu. With this, he can get the skill to gain ability points for various situations such as long chocobo rides, long drives, whenever Noctis catches a fish, and many more. Acomplishing what the game suggests the player to do (usually appears in an orange bar on top of the screen) during fights give the party a fair amount of ability points.

Hidden quests are scattered all over the open world. Items being sold in store come as a clue of what to expect in the game, so always at least buy one of every item that is not yet in Noctis’s inventory. Look out for stranded strangers, who have their cars broken down on random sides of the roads, and injured hunters, who are in hiding and will call for help if they sense Noctis’s presences. The repair kits and potions come in handy during these times and they give huge experience points.

Make Use Of the Camping Area

Setting up camp does not only give status boost but it also gains the party ability points. Aside from setting camp, make use of the training option in camping areas. Every time Noctis defeats Gladio in a training battle, he gains ability points.
