"Arrow" Season 5 midseason finale wrapped up our favorite TV series with a bang. There is a resurrection that we cannot explain just yet and an unexpected death we didn't see coming. Here is a quick recap of "Arrow" Season 5 episode 9 and some scoops about Laurel Lance' return.

In the latest episode of "Arrow" Season 5, it was revealed that Prometheus is the son of Jason Claybourne, a man Oliver Queen murdered on Season 1 of the show. Claybourne was revealed to be a villain who ran a pharmaceutical company that used the cure for Tuberculosis as a bioweapon to be rich. Claybourne's son hoarded anger against the Hood who killed his father and became Prometheus.

The masked big bad had no intentions of killing Oliver because what he wants is for the Emerald Archer to feel pain more than death so he aimed at hurting the superhero's loved ones. "Arrow" Season 5 episode 9 saw Prometheus attacked Curtis Holt and managed to trick Arrow into killing Billy Malone, Felicity Smoak's boyfriend. The hooded villain was able to suit up Billy in his costume which made Oliver think that he was Prometheus, killing the poor guy.

Of course, the news saddened Felicity but the whole Team Arrow seemed to understand the superhero. It looks like Team Arrow does not blame Oliver for Billy's death but it does not mean that Felicity can just shrug it off. Felicity, however, was not the only one who lost a partner on "Arrow" Season 5 midseason finale.

Curtis was also left by his husband Paul as the latter does not want to worry about his partner's safety because of working for Arrow. Though two beloved characters of the show lost their loved ones, a dear member of Team Arrow came back. For the episode twist, Laurel made an appearance and Oliver was surprised to see his ex-girlfriend back from the dead.

It was already reported earlier by NewsEveryDay that Laurel will be returning on "Arrow" Season 5. However, it is still unclear how was it possible for the lady to come back after dying in the previous season. Additionally, even Team Arrow will feel strange with Laurel's presence in the next episodes of the show as reported by BleedingCool.

For fans asking if Laurel is really alive, Stephen Amell only has one answer which is to tune into the next episodes of the show as per Entertainment Weekly report.
