Gamestop has announced the Nintendo Switch price by offering a pre-order for £399 or €499. The central unit of the console is the ‘Switch Console’, a battery powered monitor that comprises an LCD screen, a 3.5mm audio jack and a kickstand. The console has a slot on the side in which the Joy-Con controller can be pushed. It also includes a slot for a Game Card. The console can be placed into the Switch Dock; that connects to a power supply and T.V. when it needs to be changed. The Nintendo Switch comes with the controller called Joy-Con R and Joy-Con L.

The Nintendo Switch will support the wireless Switch Pro Controller which has a popular design like Wii Classic Controller and Wii U Pro Controller. The Nintendo Switch will also assist multiplayer via multiple consoles: for example, allowing six players to play using three Switch consoles. The exact specification has not been formally reported, but Nvidia confirmed that The Nintendo Switch uses a custom system-on-chip from Nvidia Tegra. The games like the new Super Mario game, the Skyrim port and a new version of Splatoon will be launched with The Nintendo Switch.
