Amazon is coming with three different types of retail stores including the latest small grocery store 'Amazon Go'. The plans include opening 2,000 stores across the country and 1,000 stores are expected to be opened by the end of next year. Amazon stores, the new venture from the online retail giant, is expected to take on Walmart, Target, and other retail chain stores.

The Amazon stores are coming with the cashier-less option and will be in brick-and-mortar format, quite similar to Amazon Go. Interestingly, the new two store types are comparatively larger than Amazon Go and the first one would be multi-function stores with options for curbside pickup. The second type Amazon Store is like a drive-through shopping experience, where the customers won't have an in-store shopping option.

The first drive-through Amazon store is reportedly coming within next couple of weeks in Seattle, where Amazon Go made its entry. The Amazon stores together will count 2,000 in a couple of years by the online retailer's plan. The firm is also planning a different type of Amazon stores in future, which is similar to large discount chain model that would be covering the area of 30,000 to 40,000-square-foot. These large discount stores are expected to make a real challenge to Walmart and Target.

All these Amazon stores would be using to artificial intelligence to avoid checkout counters and long queues. The customers would be scanning their phones at the kiosk in the walk-in and the system of Amazon would identify what items customers shop from each section. As soon as the customers complete the purchase, the Amazon system charges the amount and send the bill to them. Amazon Go is also arranging pick-ups for the groceries from the farmers, per the latest updates.

The new line of Amazon stores including Amazon Go is to ensure proper supply of groceries and edible items to all the major locations in U.S. on-time. It has found that Amazon is struggling to meet the on-time delivery of perishables and cost of the company to provide it within the expense limits. The new ventures are expected to remove the glitches in supply chain and ensure smooth business.
