It is believed that the China-based company OnePlus will bypass onePlus4 in favor of OnePlus 5 and the device may not tout a metal body. In fact, the successor of one Plus 3 will be OnePlus 5. All this has happened because number 4 is considered very unlucky in China. It is termed as Tetra phobia.

OnePlus 3T was released by the company as an enhanced version of OnePlus 3. As a result of the intermediate release, the company is not jumping into OnePlus5. Tech Times reports that BBK Electronics is the parent company of OnePlus which also owns Vivo brand. This company simply skipped the V4 model and straight from V3 moved on to V5. Hence OnePlus is following its parent company.

OnePlus 5 will boast of a ceramic body which is very premium but it is helpful in getting good network reception, Gizbot reports. Earlier it was speculated that the smartphone may feature a metal body. Many companies are opting for a ceramic body as the metal body is a terrible conductor for 5G signals.

On the other hand, the Ceramic body is prone to fingerprint marks and it is slippery. Also, it is scratch resistant the user might not face corrosion issues. Mi Mix and Xiaomi are also using a Ceramic material for its handsets. The same company will provide the ceramic material to onePlus.

The OnePlus 5 may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and the RAM would be 8GB. The company may opt for top tier hardware but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

It is speculated that this device will be launched in June 2017. It is simply the change of name, instead of onePlus 4, the device shall be termed as OnePlus 5.

A great design and powerful specifications could be the success key for OnePlus. The company has been widely appreciated for its bold moves with hardware features, and is expected to do som with the upcoming flagship.
