Developers of The Last of Us announced a sequel. Naughty Dog confirmed the sequel, The Last of Us Part II last Saturday.

During the Playstation Experience last Saturday, developer Naughty Dog confirmed that the sequel for The Last of Us is in the works. They also showed a trailer that features the events of The Last of Us Part II. Naughty Dog's director Neil Druckmann revealed that The Last of Us Part II's main protagonist will be Ellie. Ellie, who used to be a fourteen-year-old child in the events of the first game, has grown up to be a mature nineteen-year-old girl.

Druckmann also said that Joel, the main protagonist from the first game will also make an appearance in The Last of Us Part II. No information was given on what would his role be in the game. But the fact remains is that Joel and Ellie would be together again on another adventure in the dystopian world. Druckmann, along with Joel's voice actor, Troy Baker, asked the fans to be patient with the sequel. The Last of Us Part II will center on the theme of "hate" as shown in the trailer with Ellie's conviction to "kill every last one of them."

Naughty Dog also revealed that it is too early for the game to be playable so there's no news about the game's release. They only revealed a trailer, which shows Ellie playing an acoustic guitar inside a house full of dead bodies. Joel also appeared in the trailer. Druckmann also said that after years of formulating ideas, "they've managed to come up with a story that will evolve into an epic journey."

The Last of Us is an action game set in a post-apocalyptic world.  It tells the story of two people named Joel and Ellie as they travel through the world plagued with a disease that almost wiped out the entire world. The game was first released as a  Playstation 3 exclusive but it was later ported to Playstation 4.  Released worldwide last June 14, 2013, it garnered overwhelming positive reviews on the game's story.
