With more than 103 million Instagram followers, the social media platform has released by far the latest results and which shows that Selena has had eight of the Instagram's top 10 most- liked celebrity photos, and slain seven of the top 10 celebrity videos in 2016, according to BBC.
The social media platform also revealed that majority of the most popular celebrities in Instagram are female young celebrities, which, obviously are more hooked to social media.
Shaking herself off to the second spot is Taylor Swift, whom Selena dethroned. Forbes also reported that the "Shake it Off" singer has around 93 million followers, followed by Ariana Grande in the third spot (89 million), Beyonce (88 million), and Nikki Minaj (69 million).
According to CNET, the "Hands to Myself" singer is considered as one of several female entertainers under 40 who clearly dominates Instagram.
Reports also revealed that Selena is also crowned the most popular single person in Instagram, and has gained the most number of followers in the social media platform. Thanks to the 50 million new fans who chose to follow the "Hands to Myself" singer this year. The support helped her win the IG crown.
The data collected by Instagram also reveals, that Selena was the most mentioned musician, with her name being one of the most popular hashtags in the social media platform. According to Instagram's report, "Selenators" are also considered as the most active Instagram users.
Recently, the "Kill 'Em With Kindness" singer took a break. She was silent in her social media accounts to attend to her health. Selena made her first appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards, and made a comeback on Instagram by sharing a photo of her with her fans, together with an emotional message for her supporters on Thanksgiving.
