The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is just few hours away and we are witnessing many pre-launches before the event.

Seagate, on the occasion, is introducing a portable hard drive, specifically aimed at to be used with tablets and smartphones, including Apple's iPad and iPhone.Media like photos and videos can be streamed directly to an iOS device with the help of Seagate Media app.

The newly launched portable hard drive by Seagate has a built-in Wi-Fi which makes it independent of other networks. The hard drive is being offered in five bright colors (remember iPhone 5C?) and nine hours of battery life.

The hard-drive also offers a new auto backup feature that can make secondary copy of your photos and videos. The hard drive can also be used for storing documents and other file types.

The Seagate Wireless will reportedly hit the shelves in January for $129.99. It can be bought via the Seagate website as well as online and offline retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.

In addition to the Seagate iOS-Compatible hard drive, Seagate has also launched Seagate Personal Cloud - an alternative server side cloud-based storage. With the help of Seagate Personal Cloud, users can backup their computers and store the contents of it securely on a dedicated hard drive, located in the proximity of the user.

Another most notable launch from Seagate is the world's thinnest 500GB portable hard drive which is just 7mm thick. A brushed aluminum finish on the hard drive gives it a premium finish.
