Fans are sensing that the planned "MacGyver" - "Hawaii Five-0" crossover might happen soon. This is after makers of the show shared bits of the crossover plans just recently.

It was with TV Insider that Executive Producer Peter Lenkov opened up about his ideas for a "MacGyver" and "Hawaii Five-0" crossover. He said that the crossover idea was not easy. One of the ways he cited that will be helpful in producing the crossover is that creators should know both series very deeply so they won't disappoint fans from both sides.

"I took a shot out of the MacGyver pilot in a flashback to Jack [George Eads] in Afghanistan. The shot was of the saddle of his gun. It said "Aloha" on the saddle, and the idea was that he knew McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) in the military. I still would like to take advantage of that. Somehow we'll do a cross-over and those two guys knew each other. I'm hoping," Lenkov said.

It seems like it's a challenging time for Lenkov as he is still starting up for MacGyver which premiered last September. Moving on to "Hawaii Five-0" story developments, CaterMatt says Alex O'Loughlin is already expressing that he is going to leave the show right after Season 8. Some critics say it might be because Loughlin is already getting older and that the physical demands of the show is already too high for him.

The report points out that Alex O'Loughlin might have already expressed this to prepare writers on how they will shift the story once he decides not to continue or renew his contract with the show. Critics are unsure though if the viewers' rating will go down once the Alex O'Loughlin's character Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarret will be taken out from the scene. "Hawaii Five-0" airs on CBS Network every Friday at 9/8 c.
