Following the death of Pablo Escobar, the Netflix series "Narcos" is set for Season 3 with yet another cartel - the Cali Cartel. The Cali Cartel is a Colombian drug group that replaced the Medellin cartel after the death of the latter's leader.

Unlike Pablo Escobar's Medellin cartel, Cali Cartel is known for more discreet bribery, intimidation, and murder. The group is actually more politically astute in terms of doing business. At the peak of Cali cartel's reign, they accounted for 90 percent of cocaine sales in the world engaging illegal transactions with military and political organizations in first-world countries.

"Narcos" Season 3 is moving on without Pablo Escobar with three major characters including Helmer "Pacho" Herrera, Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela, and the Cali cartel. Deadline revealed that Nicholas Gonzalez signed up for a recurring role on "Narcos" Season 3 as an American DEA agent. Arturo Castro is also confirmed to play the role of David Rodriguez, the eldest son of Miguel.

Another recurring character is Kerry Bishe who will act as Christina, an American lady married to a Colombian who is deeply involved in the Cali Cartel. Other DEA agents in "Narcos" Season 3 are Chris Feistl played by Michael Stahl-David and Daniel Van Ness played by Matt Whelan. Andrea Londo is also set to join the third season as Colombian beauty queen. Pedro Pascual is also confirmed to return as Javier Pena, a DEA agent, but Boyd Holbrook's hasn't signed in on "Narcos" Season 3 yet.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly with Eric Newman reveals the history of Cali cartel getting Mexicans into the cocaine business, which he adds, is better than heroin. The executive producer also mentions that there are many stories to tell in "Narcos" Season 3, but could cross over to other locations if need be.

"Narcos" Season 3 will premiere on Netflix in 2017.
