NCIS Season 12: DiNozzo getting a new love interest?; One actor expects Tony to see Ziva again

DiNozzo might be moving on ladies and gentlemen.

Tony will be getting a new partner next season in the form of Stephanie Jacobsen. Jacobsen, most recently seen in "Star Crossed" and Revenge", will play FBI Special Agent Leia Pedergrast, according to TVLine. Leia and Tony (Michael Weatherly) are set to partner up on an investigation into a terror threat.

"It's time for Tony to continue to grow a little bit," executive producer Gary Glasberg told TVLine discussing the potential for a new love interest for DiNozzo . "He went through a lot last year emotionally and tried to deal with Ziva's departure as he could. And it's time [for someone new.] We'll be mature about it and handle it properly, and Michael's excited about it."

 Here is Leia's character description according to Entertianment Weekly who first reported the news:

"Armed but feminine, sexy and single, cool and confident. A former U.S. Marshal-turned FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force leader, she is flirtatious and adventurous with a sense of humor. Leia is a straight shooter, brash when she needs to be. She isn't afraid to knock down doors or egos."

Are you ready to see Tony move on? Or are you still holding out hope for a "Tiva" reconnection.

If you are, there may be some good news. Weatherly recently commented on a possible reunion with his character and Ziva (Cote de Pablo).

"I'm sure they will see other again," said Weatherly according to TV Guide.

Weatherly also as ideas about how there reunion would go.

"I am deeply fascinated by what kind of fireworks would result," Weatherly says. "I absolutely know that it would not be without an explosive quality."

There is also news on the romantic life of another NCIS agent. Per TVLine, we will hear references to McGee's (Sean Murray) relationship with Delilah (Margo Harshman) in Season 12. Unfortunately, the website also reports Harshman has not yet come back to play Delilah as production for Season 12 rolls on.*
