'Stranger Things' Season 2 Air Date, Cast, News & Updates: "Eagleheart" Star Brett Gelman Joins The Cast

"Stranger Things" will welcome a new man in Hawkins, Indiana and he's set to investigate to the bizarre things that is happening in the town.

Brett Gelman, known for his Adult Swim series Eagleheart, will definitely join the cast of "Stranger Things"  in season 2. He will play Murray Bauman, a journalist who became a conspiracy theorist who will investigate a cold case in Hawkins.

The 40-year-old actor is the latest addition to the hit Netflix show by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer. He will join previously announced Sean Astin, Linnea Berthelsen, Dacre Montgomery, Paul Reiser, and Sadie Sink.

Gelman was also known in his other TV works like Amazon's "Fleabag," HBO's "High Maintenance," and Comedy Central's "Another Period."

The comedian-actor had a rough week after he announced that he will leave Adult Swim because of poor treatment to female employees and their ties with alt-right and white nationalists. His last special series in the network called "Brett Gelman's Dinner in America," aired last July.

Reprising their roles in the 1980's-set drama-horror are series regular Millie Bobby Brown (aka Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Cara Buono (Karen), Matthew Modine (Dr. Martin Brenner), Winona Ryder (Joyce), and new series regulars Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers).

Executive producer Shawn Levy said the new season will have compelling new, multigenerational, and "really, really" intriguing characters.

Season 2 will start around the last part of 1984, after a year of the events that occurred on the first season. It will also explore the Will's disappearance on the first season.

The details about season 2 remains scarce as questions about Brown's character as a telekinetic girl Eleven's fate and Will's condition are still a mystery.

The show has already started their production after the kids are spotted in Atlanta as their characters waiting for a shoot. Season 2 would debut on 2017.
