The U.S. release of the localized, English version of the highly anticipated role-playing game (RPG) "Persona 5" has been delayed again, with a new launch date set on April 4, 2017. This development is announced by game publisher Atlus today via live stream. Launched in Japan in September 2016, the RPG was originally scheduled to launch on Valentine's Day.

Atlus' John Hardin is quoted by the website The Verge on why the slated release had changed. He said that the company "wanted to put the utmost care into ensuring it winds up the best when it launches in the West." To appease fans, Atlus will add dual audio to enable them with either Japanese or English voices.

The 2017 international release's Japanese audio will be available as a free downloadable content. The English-language version was originally planned to be released without Japanese vocal options. Atlus is compensating for the delay by giving away a bonus in the form of a free "Persona 5" them for the next 24 hours.

The "Persona" game franchise has achieved a cult status among gaming fanatics. The release of "Persona 3" and "Persona 4" on the PS2 has added complexity to the RPG, which features life simulation elements. "Persona 5" is set in Tokyo and focuses on a new cast of students known as phantom thieves.

"Persona 5" has been under development for several years. "Persona 4" was launched in 2008 so the very long waiting period has made some fans really antsy. According to the website Polygon, the PS2 edition of "Persona 4" is being sold on the PlayStation Store with big discounts.

The games' spinoffs have spawned in the form of fighting and dancing titles. The premium edition of "Persona" will feature a final art. One of them is the "Take Your Heart" set, which is up for pre-order and costs $89.99.
