The trailer released in 2015 "Solace" is a new suspense thriller with a paranormal twist that will leave viewers sitting on the edge of their chairs. Anthony Hopkins is back with another serial killer movie, and this time, he no longer plays the killer.

"Solace" was meant to be a sequel of David Fincher's "Se7en" with Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) re-appearing to investigate a serial killer. But, according to BBC America, the idea was scrapped, and they added a new plot to the script. "Solace" actually started filming last 2013, but due to issues regarding studio shuffling, the film's release was delayed.

The "Solace" movie starts with FBI Special Agent Joe Merriwether (actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan) seeking help from a former colleague with psychic powers Dr. John Clancy (actor Anthony Hopkins). Being misanthropic, Dr. Clancy isolated himself from the world after the death of his own daughter which led to the separation from his wife. At first, he refused but changes his mind after having a grueling premonition of FBI Special Agent Katherine Cowles' (actress Abbie Cornish) death. After a while of investigating, the team soon discovered the main suspect in the killings, Charles Ambrose (actor Colin Farrell).

The trailer of "Solace" showed a letter on a wall with 4:16 on it, and Dr. Clancy deduced that it meant 4:16PM, the time when they were supposed to find the letter. Following a series of tricks, deception, and decoy from the main suspect, the team wondered why he was always a step ahead. Dr. Clancy then realized that the serial killer was a paranormal, just like him, and his skills were no match against the savage serial murderer.

The trailer ends with Colin Farrell playing the serial killer saying, "I have wanted to meet you for the longest time, I can't believe we are finally face to face."

"Solace" will be hitting the movie theaters December 16.
