Live video streaming on Instagram called "Go Insta!" was leaked last month. Instagram is one of the leading photo sharing platforms today. It was only a matter of time before the developers realize that users will be looking for further enhancements to the app.

Instagram started off as a photo sharing community which made its filters popular, then it allowed users to upload short video clips, which also had features like loop play and other fun video editing apps. Instagram confirm today that it is working on a live video streaming feature.

In a report by Financial Times, Instagram confirmed the leak that it is working on a live streaming Go Insta! feature on the app. The move is aimed at enhancing and strengthening relationships within the community, and by streaming live videos, Instagram is bringing users closer to the people dear to them. The report adds that live video streaming has become the central point of other social media apps such as YouTube, Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook which Instagram considers as the key to increasing subscribers and engagement.

The mobile platform Instagram launched a feature similar to that of Snapchat Story, where users can post photos that would last 24 hours, and it's been well received by far. Instagram Stories achieved 100 million daily user engagement within just two months after the launch. The achievement prompted its first major update this Thursday.

The Instagram Stories update includes integrating users to short videos via Boomerang, its own standalone app. Instagram Stories subscribers will also be able to add links to their posts and mentions as well. The update is Instagram's efforts in further draw a distinction between Snapchat and Stories.

Instagram is not aiming to be yet another camera app, and the app is not just to take photos. Rather, the photo sharing community wants to provide an environment filled with shared experiences.

Instagram has yet to announce when the new Go Insta! feature will arrive.
