The Good Wife Season 6: Elsbeth returns; Will Alicia run for state's attorney?
Elsbeth is coming back!
According to Entertainment Weekly, everyone's favorite guest star Carrie Preston will bring her beloved Elsbeth Tascioni back for season 6.
Preston, also known for her roles on "True Blood", "Persons of Interest" and "The Following", is pretty much up for anything as far as her next role is concerned.
"Luckily, I don't get typecast. If anything, I'm not sure people know what my type is," the 47-year old actress said. . "I don't even know what my type is. When you consider Arlene, Elsbeth on The Good Wife, and Grace on Person of Interest, those three characters couldn't be more different. I just want a juicy role-if it's in a half-hour, if it's in an hour. I would never presume to imagine a role. I couldn't have dreamt up those three women, and look how great they all are. I just trust and have faith that something fabulous will come along and will be a good fit, and I'll be able to jump into it."
In other Season 6, news Steven Pasquale ("Rescue Me," "Do No Harm") has been cast for two episode according to Deadline. His character, Elfman, is touted as one of the best campaign managers in the country. If you "Good Wife" fans recall, Season 5 ended with Eli suggesting - out of left field - that Alicia run for State's attorney.
"The Good Wife" co-creator Robert King recently spoke in an interview with Zap2It about the possibility of Alicia's run for office.
"One of the things we like about it was the comic value of having that bombshell thrown at Alicia and the audience," King said according to the website. "It's different from the Season 4 ending, which was 'I'm in,' which was a decision of hers. This is more of a 'What the hell?!' Is that even something that Alicia would consider? I don't think the audience has to worry that [Alicia] would go into something that seems so alien to her right away, I don't think that is in the cards, anyway."
As Zap2It points out, due to Pasquale's 2-episode appearance, Alicia may entertain the idea but may not actually go through with it.
"The Good Wife" returns Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9/8c on CBS.
