Earlier this year, Blizzard Entertainment has shut down one of the most popular legacy servers in the World of Warcraft, Nostalrius. Because of this, fans have expressed their rage and concern over the issue.

The creators behind the much-loved server even went to write an open letter to Blizzard about the matter. Before Blizzcon started last weekend, Nostalrius' creators wrote in their forums that "if Blizzard doesn't make an announcement to honor their own core values, be sure that we will." And Blizzcon has come and gone, Blizzard brings us a great news, Nostalrius server is returning!

In an interview via Kotaku from the game director Ion Hazzikotas, the game director said "I can't speak for Nostalrius but I can say i really thoroughly enjoyed our meeting with them" He also stated that he worked for Blizzard because of his love for the original World of Warcraft and felt nostalgic during those times. He also said that it's really cool to see a group of people driven by their passion. He also stated that Nostalrius' issue is something that's still being discussed.

"It's like launching a new game, for all intent and purposes. If we could flip a switch and just make it happen, we would. But it's not that simple." Hazzikotas said. He also said that they're still discussing it internally and wanted to let their fans know that they're not scrapping that option.

Nostalrius is a legacy server in the World of Warcraft where players can enjoy the MMO without the expansions of the game. It also lets players do customizations of the older version of the popular MMORPG. Blizzard doesn't have support or management on these servers, which is why the company forced to shut it down due to a violation of its Terms and Use. Nostalrius has over 800,000 registered users and 150,000 active players before it got shut down.
