Dell has declared that it is coming with a new "Smart Desk" PC. Interestingly it is quite similar to Microsoft Surface Studio and is intended to take on it in the market. It is reported that the new Smart Desk PC will be released by early 2017 and can be considered as a stiff competitor for Surface Studio if the promotional video of the device is believed. It shouldn't be considered as a copy of Surface Studio as the promotional video was released almost 2 years back and it serves a dual screen.

The presentation at Adobe's Max conference shown the features of Dell Smart Desk and it helps users to write or draw over the screen which is being easily converted into the digital version in the ecosystem. The developer claimed that it is an ultimate device for the design professionals in the photo and video editing, illustration, and multi-hand media manipulation.

The dual screen of Dell Smart Desk is able to clearly define the capabilities of the device in maximum. The main screen is found to be serving the purpose of the monitor and the secondary screen serves the purpose of creative works on it but can act as a monitor too and can be considered as an accessory, per reports. The Dial of Dell Smart Desk works quite similar to Surface Studio and can create virtual Dial, options, rotating screen etc.

When the promotional video was released in 2014, it was reported that the Dell Smart Desk project needs three years of development, but now it got an immediate attention considering the similarities with Surface Studio. The firm claimed that it will be announced at the Consumer Electronic Show scheduled in January, per reports. The promotional video claims that it is a "workplace of the future concept" and no further details such as specifications, technical details, functionalities, price etc. are provided.

It should be understood that the first creative PC named "Sprout" came from HP and later Dell Smart Desk PC was announced. The concept has not been materialized until date, however, Microsoft came up with its Surface Studio. But considering the current situation, the Dell Smart Desk PC doesn't need much promotion.
