NBA's reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) Stephen Curry has just surpassed Ray Allen as the league's fastest player to make three points, following the Golden State Warriors' 122-114 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. The Warriors superstar took only 497 games to make 1600 threes compared to Allen's record of 693.

Despite Curry's lackluster shooting performance that night, he sank four shots from the rainbow country that allowed him to erased Allen's record. In 2015, Curry also made a record in NBA history by making 402 threes. In a CBS report, Warriors coach Steve Kerr shared that Curry might not reach the 400-plus threes mark. The point-guard is expected to deliver 200-plus threes this season.

The entry of Kevin Durant into the Warriors and the presence of Curry's backcourt mate Clay Thompson are the reasons cited by Kerr why his number one player might make fewer threes this season. But Kerr reiterated that there would be equal distribution among the three, shooting-wise. He also mentioned the importance of Draymond Green to the team alongside the Splash Brothers.

In another CBS report, Curry believes that Durant will make their 2016 games crazier than the previous year. He highlighted the huge transition needed by the team but noted that Durant will make the Warriors ever more dynamic.

The Warriors lost their season opener to San Antonio Spurs. The two-time defending Western Conference champion was dominated by the Spurs' offensive rebounds. The team remains undaunted and is expecting a better effort.

After the Warriors' loss to the Spurs, skeptics are questioning the durability of Golden State over the NBA's long-haul season. But Curry and his gang are determined to prove that their critics are wrong. For the Warriors, they just need to focus more on the mental side and to reconsider the fundamentals of a good play.
