"This is perhaps the most disillusioning, psychological and darkest plot line that we will attempt to adapt," said the anime's writer Bob told Anime Maru. "We hope to remain as faithful as possible to the source material, although we cannot guarantee that more gory scenes such as Touka's standardized exam test-taking will not be censored."

Another assurance that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 will indeed happen is the increasing sales of the manga. It is known that once a manga has a stable sales, an anime will soon be released. There are also unverified reports that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 might arrive these coming months. Speculations also reveal that the next season 3 will be a sequel series of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" which is set two years after the original series ended. Uncensored gore scenes will be featured in the installment which might make fans cringe.

More teasers reveal that the upcoming title will focus on a storyline about the life of Ken Kaneki. It will feature Kaneki undergoing extreme life changes which will include his identity, his name and even his loyalty. Kaneki will also be able to regain his real self by the end of the series.
