Mozilla Firefox, one of often used browser, is striving to develop a new browser engine to help users to browse without lag and erratic frame rates. The new project for the development is called Quantum.

According to TechCrunch, Quantum is a browser engine so designed to answer and provide solutions to the problems of users whenever they view webpages. The work on Quantum is influenced by the works on Servo ad Rust which aims to make the browsing experience smooth especially on websites were users usually cannot browse well without experiencing slow or lag interactions.

Mozilla Firefox is continually striving to improve the users experience. According to Mozilla Tech, over the past years the priority of Firefox is with the Electrolysis project that provides a multi-process browsing experience. This improves not just the performance but it also greatly improves the security. This Electrolysis Project has said to be the largest change made to Firefox. And now this Quantum project is the other additional improvement for security and performance.

Project Quantum was announced and is being worked on to accelerate its browser starting next year as stated in an article in CNet. In this article, David Bryant, Mozilla's head of platform engineering, said in a blog post that this Project Quantum is for users to feel a different web experience. He said that smooth scrolling and faster loading of pages will be experienced. The responds of the animations and interactive apps will be instant and the most important content will be automatically prioritized.

The aim to develop a next-generation engine can take advantage to the processing power of some of the users modern devices. According to Medium, this Quantum Project may come as an ambitious project but the improvements will surely be experienced. Also, the first version of the engine resulted from Project Quantum will be shipped on Linux, Windows, Mac and Android.
