In the data provided by Health Line, the statistic shows that 1 out of 700 babies suffers from this condition. When there are abnormal distributions of the chromosome to a child, it adversely affects the development of the brain and the infant's physic.

There are three identified types of Down syndrome in Medical history. The most common are Trisomy 21, mosaicism which tends for them to have fewer symptoms compared to the first one, and lastly is Translocation which means a child has one extra piece of chromosome attached.
