The comedian Patton Oswalt said 'I'll Never Be at 100 Percent Again' after his wife's sudden death last April.  In an interview with The New York Times, the comedian recounts the tragic event in his life.

His wife, Michelle McNamara, was a true crime writer who was working on a book about California serial killer days before her passing. In his interview with The New York Times, Oswalt recalls that his wife was so passionate about working on her book that she could barely get some rest. Because he was worried about her health, the comedian suggested to "sleep until you wake up." McNamara later took Xanas.  At least, that was what he could recall until the comedian found the lifeless body of his wife the day after. Oswalt calls that fateful day as the second worst day of his life, the worst one is when he has to break the news to his daughter Alice.

Although the cause of McNamara's death is still vague but Oswalt believed it is an overdose. "I have a feeling it might have been an overdose," and further added "That's what the paramedics there were saying while I was screaming and throwing up."

On the other hand, the comedian confesses that he is presently searching for ways of coping with the loss, and had found some peace of mind in performing stand-up once again. In fact, he has spent the last month perfecting the material that he is set to perform next week at the Beacon Theater in New York City.

The comedian said that part of his upcoming set will have to tackle about his grief, and that somehow he feels guilty of being back onstage again. He calls the process as "a rebuke to grief, an acceptance of the messiness of life," and admits "I'll never be at 100 percent again, but that won't stop me from living this."
