There are skin disorders such as psoriasis that may have a treatment but doesn't have any cure. People who have it may suffer defeatism and discrimination as it may affect the way they look and how society will understand what they are suffering from.

Psoriasis is the abnormality growth of skin that occurs when the weather is too cold or if they experience emotional stress. It is associated with other conditions but can be avoided if proper treatment is applied according to the American Academy of Dermatologist.

On the data, it is estimated that 7.5 million people suffer from psoriasis in the United States alone. It may occur in the adult stage of a person's life, but it can vary to different age group. 80% of individuals having psoriasis in the US has continually been seeing a dermatologist for medical help.

It is described that people with psoriasis will have a bright to light red skin with white or silver scale. It is dry in nature which causes for a patient to suffer from severe itchiness. Emotionally, they easily get irritated.

According to Health line, there are eight types of psoriasis identified in medical history. In many researches, no one has ever come up with a tangible reason on what causes this. However, some patients associate this to have occurred after their sudden drop in alcohol intake.

Several ointments can be purchased over the counter, but a dermatologist's prescription is best recommended. Taking drugs, on the other hand, may require expert opinion as there are many complications for this skin disease.

Although, NCBI state that the prevalence has been controlled on the mid-2000s they still recommend for a thorough public education and research to understand psoriasis. It is also emphasized in studies that psoriasis is not a communicable disease.
