American singer Charlie Puth is extremely sick and cancels the remaining shows for his "Don't Talk" tour which kicked off in September and scheduled to run until November 8, a tweet from his Twitter account reads. The former YouTube sensation said he only needs some rest and time off from road travel.

Posting his announcement on his Twitter account on Sunday, Puth tweeted: "Unfortunately, I have to cancel the remaining dates on my Don't Talk Tour. This is the last thing I want because I love being on the road performing and meeting every one of you."

The 24-year-old Pop and R&B artist launched his "We Don't' Talk Tour" to promote his latest album "Nine Track Mind" which is also a collaborative effort with Selena Gomez. Charlie Puth kicked off his tour in Dallas on September 26 and has since performed in Boston, Orlando, New York and Philadelphia. He was supposed to wrap up his tour in Los Angeles on November 8.

Puth, who grew up in New Jersey, expressed his gratitude and passion. "You are the reason I can do what I love most for a living and I am so thankful," he continued on his tweet. "I have been extremely sick pushing through these dates and haven't taken the time my body needs to recover," Puth explains, still on Twitter.

His "One Call Away," the second single released from his "Nine Track Mind," rose to 12th spot on Billboard Hot 100, despite being a gospel song. The single is Puth's third song to have reached the highest rank on the chart, after his "We Don't Talk Anymore."

STL Today reports the artist cancelled his tour at The Pageant. For Charlie to get back in shape and start performing for his fans, he said he only needs rest and time off. He also promised he will do whatever he can to make up for cancelling his Don't Talk tour on his tweet.
