Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 just premiered this Thursday, October 13, and it looks like there's a lot to look forward to for this season. The first episode premiered ... with the Legends missing?!

There will also be a lot of new (yet familiar) faces coming to the show. As there are currently a lot of DC shows airing now, Legends of Tomorrow gets to have a bit of crossover fun with Flash, and Arrow characters, as per AccessHollywood. This expansion in the DC universe definitely makes things more exciting, doesn't it?

According to Philly.com, new heroes and villains will be showing up as well, with The Justice Society of America and The Legion of Doom showing up. Some characters DC fans can look forward to seeing to are Hourman, Obsidian, as well as Damien Darkh, Reverse Flask, and Malcolm Merlyn.

Most of the original cast will be back for the second season, though Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) have left, reports Heavy. New members of the team include Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Citizen Steel (Nick Zano).

Executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Phil Klemmer have also discussed in interviews that they want the second season to be more fun compared to the first, where the hunt for Vandal Savage had caused a pall over the whole show.

"We wanted season two to be much more of a mystery, much more amorphous and having a Legion of Doom which is obviously a misnomer because they're not necessarily on the same page about what their dastardly agendas are," says Klemmer. "We wanted to allow our characters the chance to have fun and to be themselves. To have the world coming to an end, it's so dire and epic that it doesn't afford them the chance to do what they do best."

"Oh god, it's so freeing," says Guggenheim. "The show benefits enormously from the new concept. We re-engineered the show to do what it did best, and it's become a much more fun show to write and produce, and I think that fun shows up on the screen."

Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 airs every Thursday at 8PM on the CW.
