‘Legion’ The New ‘X-men’ TV Series Will Be Different, Says Its Executive Producer

The upcoming TV series "Legion" that is connected to "X-Men" series will be made completely different from the movie series per its Executive Producer Shuler Donner. It is created for FX and is based on a Marvel Comics character with same name, will be aired in 2017. It depicts a psychiatric patient named David Haller, who encounters with another psychiatric patient that makes some changes in his thoughts. Dan Stevens enacts as the protagonist in the plot.

Shular Donner, who has also worked with all the X-Men films confirmed that "Legion" will be original and will surprise everyone. "It is far away from X-Men series and that is what I wanted; it will definitely part of a wider world," She said. "It lives within the universe and will surprise everyone; it is very different." When asked about the special connection that David Haller maintains with X-Men's leader Professor Charles Xavier, Noah Hawley, the creator of the TV series confirmed that it would stay true to the origin of the character, cited Mashable.

Apart from that, the crew is found to be reluctant to give more information on how the series would relate to X-Men films. It is interesting to see how the mental illness getting portrayed in the movie. Also it is important, how the series would fix itself in the larger universe of Marvel Comics characters and that would decide the fate of the series. "Stay tuned," said Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel TV, when asked about the possible future crossovers of different Marvel characters, reported The Verge.

Marvel Comics Characters and its TV adaptations were highly successful in the past. The production house would try to deliver the same success in the latest TV series as well. If it accomplishes, it would be a good news for its fans and they can expect more TV series including crossovers.
