It was in 2012 when a political thriller TV series was introduced, with the participation of a former president's press aide Judy Smith as co-executive producer. "Scandal" Season 6 makes noise as the show gets nearer to its fifth year on air.

Recent spoilers have given fans enough to feed their patience for the long wait. Bustle, for one, gave scenarios if ever Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) wins the presidency, siting that the character would become the best president in TV series history. Casts Brian Letscher (Tom) and George Newbern (Charlie) gave their personal predictions about Mellie. Newbern said that "Scandal" Season 6 will mirror what is currently going on in the real United States presidential elections involving Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Both actors said things will get even more interesting with this storyline direction.

To recall, "Scandal" Season 5 finished with Mellie's political endeavors. She also introduced the person who will run alongside with her - Jake. Mellie and Jake are running against Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) and running-mate Cyrus (Jeff Perry). "Mellie's already been through a lot to get there. I think she'd be pretty tough, seriously tough. A ton of experience, she's been through all the scandals, I think she would kick ass in the white house," Letscher adds.

With these pleasing story development and spoilers, a negative rumor has been spreading all over the internet. Game N' Guide states that the show is about to meet its end with "Scandal" Season 6. The report says that the network renewed the series with only a few episodes, a mark which usually indicates that a show is about to conclude.

The website also posted the trailer of a scandal-like series titled "Notorious" which ABC Network is currently brewing. Scandal was also not included in the network's Thursday show lineup. As of this writing, ABC has remained mum about the issue.
