Yet another movie will be adapted for TV. The critically acclaimed 2004 hit "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind"  is being remade for the small screen according to a report in the Hollywood Reporter.

The unique romantic comedy starred Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet as an estranged couple who decide to wipe off memories of each other. Written by Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry and Pierre Bismuth, the movie script was much appreciated and won the Oscar that year for the Best Screenplay.

Steve Golin from Anonymous Content producer of the original movie will be remaking the movie in to TV series with studio Universal Cable Productions. Joining him will be Richard Brown executive producer for True Detective . The project is still in its infancy and is yet to complete assembling of its team but it is known that Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman are not involved in the project. Zev Borow is reportedly in discussion for writing the script for the series.

Anonymous Content has a strong track record as pointed out by Slashfilm, having been the ones that produced True Detective and the highly successful Mr. Robot.

This is just the latest of the movies making a transition to the small screen. Fargo and Westworld are some of the ones that have lived up to the hype for most parts and have seen a successful run.

According to Hollywood Reporter, remakes are an easy way to cut through the clutter and grab audience attention in a scenario where there are 500 original series being developed.

Many are wondering how the quirky and imaginative movie will be able to come alive on television. Much of the charm in the original movie is attributed to Gondry's inventive direction, and the sterling performances by some of the best of Hollywood's actors.

But the plot of wiping out memories particularly of exes is something that has a lot of potential for story-telling and for finding resonance with audiences.
