'Tangled' Release Date, News & Update: Series First Teaser Released; FIRST LOOK!

The first teaser trailer for the "Tangled" series was released by Disney Channel. The new animated series, which was announced in 2015 and will debut in 2017, is based on Disney's popular animated film of the same title. The series was developed by animation veterans Chris Sonnenburg (Disney's Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (The Lego Movie).

According to M Magazine, the film will feature the original voice actors such as Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi whol will reprising their lead roles as Rapunzel and Eugene aka Flynn Rider, respectively. Supporting characters like Rapunzel's chameleon sidekick, Pascal and the royal horse Maximus will also join the series. Other actors reprising voice roles from the film include Jeffrey Tambor as Big Nose and Paul F. Tompkins as Shorty, as well as M.C. Gainey as Captain of the Guards.

Daily Mail also confirmed that the following voice actors are involve in the series, such as: Ashley Judd as Rapunzel's mother Queen Arianna; Broadway star Eden Espinosa as Rapunzel's handmaiden and confidant, Cassandra; comedian Jeff Ross as Hook Hand's brother Hook Foot; Richard Kind as Uncle Monty; Sean Hayes, as Pete the Guard and a whole lot more.

The series is set to take place in between the events of the original 2010 film and the 2012 short feature "Tangled Ever After." It will follow Rapunzel as she acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. The series will also feature a lot of adventures that Rapunzel and Eugene got into in the time in-between.

The film "Tangled" (2010) is a box-office hit, debuting with $68.7 million and went on to earn $200 million domestically and more than $593 million globally, becoming one of Walt Disney Animation Studios' biggest releases of all time. It was nominated for Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards for best animated film as well as best song for "I See the Light" that won a Grammy Award and was nominated for an Oscar. The series will reunite and feature new songs from Disney veteran and Academy Award winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.
