'Frozen' 2 Spoilers, News & Update: Is Elsa Getting A Girlfriend In The Sequel? What We Know So Far!

"Frozen" 2 is rumored to be on the works and Elsa happens to have a new girlfriend in this sequel. This new girlfriend that is to join the film is speculated to be Tinkerbell.

In a report from iTechPost, "Frozen" 2 had a controversy when petitions were seen online asking Disney to give Elsa a girlfriend. The strong and independent personality of Elsa seems to be a good fit to represent the LGBT community.

Idina Menzel who plays the voice of Elsa shares her thought on the idea of giving Elsa a new girlfriend to "Frozen" 2. She claims that it is an interesting idea and a good topic of whether a Disney princess can be gay.

Menzel added that she is not aware of the plot for "Frozen" 2 yet and is not sure if having a girlfriend for Elsa will happen. However if this will indeed be happening in the sequel, then it is not the first for Menzel to do a bisexual role. She already did Maureen for 'Rent.' In doing Maureen, she landed getting a Tony Award Nomination.

According to Morning News USA, a possible girlfriend for Elsa in "Frozen" 2 would be Tinkerbell. This has been hinted by Menzel in an interview. Meanwhile, Kirsten Bell who voiced Ann is silent about the plot for Elsa having a girlfriend. She shares that whatever Elsa wants in the sequel, then that is what's going to happen.

As of this moment, there is no confirmation of any plot in the upcoming "Frozen" 2. It can be possible that Disney will get Elsa a girlfriend in the upcoming film. The sequel is still on the wraps and nothing official is out yet. In Frozen 1, Elsa has been a single and independent and a very young girl.

Fans of the Disney film will have to sit tight and wait for the official announcements about "Frozen" 2.
