Janet Jackson: Confirmed Pregnant, Fertility Expert Discusses Topic On Pregnancy At 50

The American singer and songwriter, Janet Jackson is confirmed pregnant at the age of 50. She was spotted leaving baby furniture in London on Tuesday afternoon.

Janet Jackson has not released an official confirmation of her pregnancy, according to CNN. However, photos that have gone viral on the internet confirm that she is expecting her first child with husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana. Jackson was in a baby furniture store in London with her staff, leaving with a bag of mechandise.

Since April, Jackson has been out of the spotlight for personal reasons and cancelled her Unbroken tour. According to People, Jackson shared a video via Twitter saying "I thought it was important that you be the first to know. "My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you could try and understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders." She also gave her fans a hint by releasing her music video "Dammn Baby."

According to an article by Entertainment Tonight that breaks down potential risks of having a baby at 50 years old. But according to the fertility expert, Dr. Catherine Deugarte, Jackson has nothing to worry about as she approaches childbirth. Dr. Deugarte explained that there are now choices women can make when it comes to starting a family at a late age.

There is no confirmation whether Jackson got her baby naturally or not. Hawever, Dr. Deugarte stated that getting pregnant naturally at 50 is highly unlikely. "The other scenarios are they use an egg donor, through the use of in vitro fertilization, with or without the use of a gestational surrogate," Dr. Deugarte said. "Or, you can get pregnant with embryo or eggs that you had frozen in your younger days," she continues. She also adds that as long as Jackson is under proper monitoring and care of a doctor, there is nothing to worry about.

There are risks to women carrying a baby at age 50. However, Deugarte tells Entertainment Tonight that "taking it easy" is imperative. Cancellation of her tour is definitely for the better of her condition.
