‘Modern Family’ Season 8 Updates & Spoilers: Casts First Transgender Child Actor, Manny & Luke Up Against Each Other?

"Modern Family" Season 8 recently premiered and is now faced with a sensitive matter as they recently cast a transgender child actor in the episode titled "A Stereotypical Day." Another episode will show Manny (Rico Rodriguez) and Luke (Nolan Gould) battling against each other for class presidency.

"'Modern Family' is truly living up to its name," an article from CNN reports, as they cast the first transgender child in Hollywood, the 8-year-old Jackson Millarker. Millarker will play as Tom, who is Lily's (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) new friend. "Modern Family" director Ryan Case posted a photo on her private Instagram account with Millarker with the caption "This is Jackson Millarker. He's 8 years old, from Atlanta, and just happens to be transgender. He plays Lily's friend Tom in this week's Modern Family and he's wonderful. One of the many reasons I love being a part of this show."

In "Modern Family" Season 8 Episode 2, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) heard Lily insulting her new friend Tom, who happens to also play a transgender role in the show. Cam and Mitchell had to teach Lily a lesson about acceptance.

Meanwhile, for the upcoming "Modern Family" Season 8 Episode 3, according to itechpost, it will be a battle between the Dunphys and Pritchetts as Manny and Luke are running against each other for the class presidency. As the overly competitive parents, Jay (Ed O'Neill), Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Claire (Julie Bowen) are more aggressive to get the win for their sons.

According to Latin Post, Haley (Sarah Hyland) will be venturing into a new career as an entrepreneur. While Alex (Ariel Winter) will possibly be is on her way to getting a new cool guy boyfriend. Gloria (Sofia Vergara) will be seeing some progress in her hot sauce business. Lily is facing some teenager problems which gives Cam and Mitchell some dramathey both need to handle.  "Modern Family" Season 8 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
