Despite the emergence of a multitude of smartphone apps and games in the market, Minecraft still remained as one of the widely-downloaded mobile games in both iOS and Android platforms, and as we speak, it would seem like its devs are not done just yet.

For the first time, boss battles will be introduced in a series of updates for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, Minecraft: Pocket Edition, and Minecraft: Gear VR Edition, which is slated to begin on October 18.

The said update will allow the player to go toe-to-toe against the Wither and The Elder Guardian in intense boss battles. Furthermore, explorable ocean monuments, arctic areas, and igloos were added to the update.

In addition, Minecraft's upcoming Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack will enable the player to choose between 41 different skins, and explore/create environments inspired by the lore of the Far East. It will also include a map for the Battle Mini Game released back in June, and will also feature a few ancient cities alongside a couple of dragons.

The said pack will be available for $4.99, and is set for launch in the US on October 4th.

On the other hand, VR users will be getting an enhanced experience. The next update will now endow the player an option to use the Bluetooth-powered Xbox One gamepad in either the Windows 10 or Gear VR versions of Minecraft. Meanwhile, Oculus Rift players may now utilize the Oculus Touch hand controllers to navigate through the game.

The VR update is set for release on the 18th as well.
