The 2016-2017 NBA Season is just around the corner, and trade talks are starting to build up momentum. Moreso, it would seem that Boston Celtics are looking to strengthen their roster for the year, as rumors point to their apparent interest with Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love.

According to a report from Sport Illustrated writer Mitchell Gastin, the Celtics have been eyeing a potential trade for Love, who is a staple member of the Cavs roster for almost two seasons. Gastin claims that Boston has "remained intrigued by a potential trade for a big man" for some time, and Kevin Love might fit well to the description.

Furthermore, it has been rumored that a three-way trade might take place between Boston, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. These rumors purport that Love will be heading to Celtics, center Nerlens Noel will be joining the Cavs, and Jaylen Brown will be traded to the 76ers.

In addition, Jonas Jerebko might settle for the Cavs, and both Amir Johnson and Terry Rozier will be heading down Philadephia.

However, it may be a little too late for Boston.

According to Gastin's analysis, the team may have missed their chance in luring Love to their fold. Factors include the lack of steep decline in Love's value, as well as the team's aggressive campaign to grab Westbrook and Griffin.

"The Celtics are interested in Love for his perimeter shooting and ability to stretch the floor, two facets that are lacking in Boston's current roster. However, the Celtics have also been reluctant, waiting for a steep decline in Love's market value to get him at the right price - but have they missed their chance?"

ESPN's Brian Windhorst, on the other hand, believes that a trade might still be possible. He commented that the Cavs are in a position to remain lax, granted the overall strength of their roster, and that the team does not seem to intend in keeping Love for long. He believes that Love might be the key Boston's been looking for.

The 2016-2017 NBA Season starts October 26.
