Galaxy Note 7 battery fires makes Samsung recall its phones

Samsung, the world's largest smartphone manufacturer which released its new innovative smartphone Galaxy Note 7 two weeks ago has bought problems to giant on battery fire issues.

 Few days after the release of Galaxy Note 7, according to The Iquirer, A man posted some photos in Chinese forum Baidu, stating that his phone was caught fire when plugged in for charging at night. An unknown person by name 'Mr. Ni 666666' claimed the remains of his burned Galaxy Note 7.

The user said that when he plugged his Galaxy Note 7 to the charger at night, he heard a "Sudden bang". Then he claims that his device was all burnt off and the remains of the mobile was clicked with photos and posted on the Chinese forum.

Samsung responded to the incident at that moment by stating. "Samsung takes product quality and customer safety very seriously. We have been in contact with the customer and are conducting a full investigation into the product in question," a spokesperson told the The Inquirer,

According to Gmanetwork- after two weeks of release in 10 different markets in the world, the company has taken extreme steps of recalling the phones back for those owners who has reported that their Galaxy Note 7 has ignited during charging.

Koh Dong-jin, head of the South Korean company's smartphone business, expressed regret over the recall, which will affect markets including South Korea and the United States, at a news conference on Friday. According to Koh, the model in China has different battery and no such issues have been reported.

The company said in a statement- "In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note 7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue," and "To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market."- As per News Vice.

According to Gsmarena, Samsung has announced exchange programs in US. The exchange program allows owners to have either of two choices given - if some owners want to stick to the same device, the first choice is to exchange their current Galaxy Note 7 with a new Galaxy Note 7 unit that will arrive next week. The second choice is to exchange their current Galaxy Note 7 with a trustworthy Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge as well as replacement of any Note 7 specific accessories. The company has also promised that on exchanging with other phones the difference in price will also be refunded. Whichever the option chosen, users will also get a 25 USD gift card or bill credit from select carrier retail outlets.
