Moto G4 Release Date and News: How does it fare against its competitors?

Over the weekend, Lenovo announced that the recently unveiled Moto G4 is all set to go on sale in India from June 22. While there is no word on the price tag, the company has revealed that the smartphone will be exclusively available via Amazon India. With the Moto G4 Plus priced at Rs 13,499, we expect the Moto G4 to be priced around the Rs 10,000 mark. This would mean it will be up against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s (Eco), and the Coolpad Note 3 Plus among others. With just a couple of days to the launch, let's take a look at five main rivals of the Moto G4.

Before taking a closer look at the Moto G4 is competition, let's quickly take a look at the smartphone's specifications and features. The Moto G4 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage.

It also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 5-megapixel selfie camera with wide-angle lens, 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower charging support, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, and 4G with VoLTE support. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (16GB): The 16GB Redmi Note 3 variant (priced at Rs 9,999) is among the popular smartphones in this range. It too comes with a 1080p display, Snapdragon 650 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB memory. It however comes with advantages like a microSD card to expand internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, a bigger 4,000mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner placed at the back of the device. LeEco Le 1s (Eco): The Le 1s (Eco) is available on Flipkart for Rs 9,999. It features a full-metal body as well as a fingerprint scanner, something that are missing on the Moto G4. As for specs, it comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, and a USB Type-C port.
