Hillary Clinton Throws Some Joke Bombs At Trump

What makes "dry" Hillary Clinton's speeches unique is her sense of humour. But then, her rival Donald Trump isn't too difficult to tap for jokes either! Sometimes, his very statements are clownish.

Hillary Clinton was introduced at a campaign drive Friday morning in Culver City. Actress Debra Messing addressed her with some descriptions that everyone would agree with---that she is "tough, a champion for women's rights, and a fighter."

There was another label that she pinned on her too.

"She is also funny," Messing told the crowd of a few hundred supporters.

Most of Clinton's campaign was charged by her opponents of being "robotic and scripted" compared to her GOP rival Donald Trump's. She seemed to be at a disadvantage to the ex-reality TV star Trump, who felt natural before the camera. However, since she landed in California before Tuesday's primary, she took up a light banter against her rival that made a hit.

It started on Thursday in San Diego, when she lashed out at his foreign policy. Earlier, she said that he was a "loose cannon", who would be a threat to the nation if he was elected to be a commander-in-chief. However, on Thursday, she laced her comments with some wry satire.

"He says he doesn't have to listen to our generals or our admirals, our ambassadors and other high officials because he has - quote - 'a very good brain,',repeat," she said as the crowd burst into laughter. "He also said, 'I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me.' You know what? I don't believe him."

She jeered that he had no foreign policy experience. "There's no risk of people losing their lives if you blow up a golf-course deal," she said to more laughter. At another point, she said she'd "leave it to the psychiatrists" to sort out Trump's "affection for tyrants."

She referred to Thursday's speech during three stops. "Yesterday I had the opportunity in San Diego to repeating what Donald Trump has said," Clinton explained at a women's organizing event in Culver City. "I didn't make any of that up. I mean, it would be hard to make that up. By the end of working on that speech, even I was saying, 'Did he really say all of this?'"

Clinton slammed Trump further at her next stop in Westminster. Referring to his university as "Trump U" she slipped in another word. "That doesn't sound appropriate, does it," Clinton said. "I am going to use that more. Because if he gets anywhere near the White House, you know what he is going to do? He is going to Trump U."

She even took a dig at herself at the Culver City event. Referring to her attempts at closing the gender wage gap and women's reproductive rights, she said: "People keep discovering me. I'm like an archaeological dig."
