Google is extending its reach beyond the confines of internet search and pour R&D resources into ventures like self-driving cars, smart homes, and now an AI-generated platform with artistic consciousness. Recently, Google Brain group has unveiled its latest Magenta Project that uses open source artificial intelligence platform called TensorFlow with the chief aim of producing art pieces and musical compositions through algorithms.

As reported by The Verge, the search giant's highly innovative learning project has announced the release of its first AI-generated piano composition- a 90-second musical piece created with the aid of trained neural network with only four notes initially available. The other segments of the melody have included a bit of drum and orchestration add-ons without the use of algorithms added effect.

Of course, the first AI song is nowhere near the caliber of known human composers but the breakthrough represents a new age in which machines are learning through practice and human-like intuition. As per Google blog post, Magenta aims at developing algorithms that would enable machines to independently learn artistic pursuits. Moreover, the project also looks forward to establishing a supportive AI research community made of machine learning scientists, computer coders, and even artists who will complement each other's effort of creating AI-generated content.

As machine learning research improves over time with each milestone along the way, artificial intelligent systems are expected to become increasingly smarter and extremely sophisticated making sci-fi fantasies into reality. With Google's machine learning projects, AI has already proven to mark the dawn of an age where computer-generated platforms mimic human-like intuitive abilities from making accurate language translations to defeating human 'Go' grandmasters- an oriental chess game with infinite number of potential moves, ABC News reported.

Prior to Magenta, Google has ventured into a machine learning project called DeepDream that visualizes actions inspired by neural networks. Furthermore, Google also came up with the Artists and Machine Intelligence program to sponsor machine learning-related initiatives and collaborative researches.
