The biggest fast food company in the world is looking for a new home and are in talks to move its headquarters from its current location to the West Loop area of the city, in a property that used to be Oprah Winfrey's studio in the city back in the day. In a recent development, that has now been reported by most of the major news publications, McDonald's are looking to move from their present headquarters to a location rumoured to be the site of a new campus that would be spread across an area of a staggering 300,000 square foot. The company is reportedly engaged in talks with renowned real estate developer Sterling Bay in order to build their dream campus that they hope would be in keeping as their status as one of the cash rish corporations in the world.

According to a report on USA Today, "The Big Mac-maker is in advanced talks with developer Sterling Bay to create a 300,000 square foot campus in Chicago as its new headquarters, according to a source knowledgeable about the talks. But the source, who asked not to be named because the deal has not been finalized, cautioned that the move to the former Harpo Studios campus is not yet a certainty.Sterling Bay bought the property from Oprah's Harpo Studios in 2014 for $30.5 million, with Oprah shutting down the studio last December." Although the rumours have been buzzing for some time, the company has declined to maky any statement regarding the developments and stated that all information regarding the subject would be shared with the employees.

In 2015, McDonald's were all set to move their headquarters to One Prudential Plaza in Chicago but the company pulled the plug later on and that might be the reason why they are tight lipped at the moment. Steve Easterbrooke, the CEO of McDonald's had earlier spoken about the topic in a shareholders' meet recently, "We will leave no stone unturned and we will also consider where the best location for the office is and the best facilities. If you want a world class team you've got to provide a world class environment."
