The internet is buzzing with rumors that the Apple Watch 2 will be officially announced in June 2016 at the WWDC conference to be held in San Francisco. When there was no mention of the watch at March 21 event, several fans were visibly disappointed. But is the June release date real or just another speculation? Only time will tell.

For now, it is safe to assume that the new watch will probably come out with new iOS slated for release on June 13. However, if due to any reason that does not happen, the next probable launch date will be September when Apple will unveil its flagship smartphone, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Of the two potential release dates, the one in September seems more likely, since the first Apple Watch also came out around the same time.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the production of Apple Watch 2 will be revealed in 2016's second quarter. However, KGI securities' Ming-Chi Kuo analyzed that it will not be before the third quarter that the production will begin, which put further significance on September being the most probably release date for the highly anticipated smartwatch.

However, contrary to this, there was another report claiming Barry Lam, Quanta president and also an official supplier of Apple Watch, hinted that the watch will be released at the WWDC in 2016. "Quanta and Apple are currently developing the second-generation of the Apple Watch, expected late next year in the second quarter."

Reports indicate that Quanta is the one that undertakes Apple Watch 2 production. However, for now, Apple has remained tightlipped about the release date of their smartwatch.
