All the fans who have been waiting for "The Winds of Winter" for the last four years were very excited when the rumor about its release this month was rolled out. However, George RR Martin clarifies that the book is still under progress.

In a previous article, it was reported that Martin revealed a new chapter from his much awaited book so that he can appease eager fans and keep the interest in his book going. The latest chapter had some new characters that have not been shown in the popular show, "Game of Thrones." The said chapter was from Arianne Martell's point of view. Martin also added that the edited chapter will act as a teaser for the upcoming book that is long overdue. "You want to know what the Sand Snakes, Prince Doran, Areo Hotah, Ellaria Sand, Darkstar, and the rest will be up to in WINDS OF WINTER? Quite a lot, actually. The sample will give you a taste. For the rest, you will need to wait," he wrote on his blog.

"And no, just to spike any bullshit rumors, changing the sample chapter does NOT mean I am done. See the icon up above? Monkey is still on my back... but he's growing, he is, and one day...," George RR Martin added.

To clarify, one fan asked the author, "So just to clarify. The rumors of the novel being edited by your publishers and due out by the end of May are complete crap, correct?" To which George RR Martin replied with, "Complete crap, yes. Who makes up these stories? "
