Action cameras have become the rage in recent years, but the emergence of live video streaming means that you'll want something that has the ability to connect to a mobile network.

LG has you covered with the Action Cam LTE.It's very similar to a GoPro, but it has LTE connectivity. This means that you can stream directly to YouTube Live so all your friends can watch the action as it happens. It also has two more features GoPro lacks: GPS and motion sensing. As with all action cameras, durability is important. The Action Cam LTE has a rating of IP67, which means it's completely protected from dust and sand. Plus, it can survive in water up to a meter deep for 30 minutes without a hitch. For those of you that are a little more hardcore, LG plans to offer a waterproof case during the third quarter that will allow you to go surfing or scuba diving.

When the action is over and you're back home relaxing, you can set up the Action Cam as a CCTV camera, since it has remote access via 3G and LTE.Users can also download recorded images and videos with a paired smartphone. Unfortunately LG didn't specify if pairing works on both Android and iOS, but we presume it does. The camera has a 1/2.3-inch lens capable of capturing 12.3-megapixel photos. It can record 4K videos at 30 frames per second (fps), 1080p at 60fps, or 720p at 120fps. The live streaming feature works for only 720p at 30fps.At only 35mm x 35mm x 77.9mm and weighing only 95 grams, it's compact enough to take anywhere.

The Action Cam includes 2GB of RAM along with 4GB of internal storage. You can also add a MicroSD card with up to 2TB for extra storage. Connectivity includes LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.1. It also has a USB Type-C 2.0 port. Battery life is always a concern, but not with the Action Cam LTE. The included 1,400mAh battery means you'll be able to capture up to four hours of 1080p video before running out of juice. And finally, LG will offer an optional mount at launch. It can be attached to helmets, bicycles, cars, and other fast moving objects.
