Speculative images of GTA 6 has sent rumors mills working overtime and has divided fan opinion even before the game's release is announced.

Rockstar released GTA V about three years ago, a duration that preceded the release of GTA 4 in 2013. The excitement about the game's location and map is now building up leading many to speculate it could be based out of the US. Historically, the game has been based in stand-ins for American cities New York City, Miami and California. Reports have emerged suggesting Tokyo as a possible location.

Some reports are now speculating that GTA 6 could be set in Boston. The city's coast, its urban locale and historical landmarks can make for an interesting location. Fans may find its image of being a peaceful city disquieting but Rockstar could make the stand-in more menacing.

Fans on the other hand have been vocal about suggestions. "GTA 6 will be in Houston, Texas. This isn't right. THANK GOD," a Reddit post reads. "I would only buy this if the car scene was huge and I could go back to LC in GTA Online," wrote another fan in response to a showing the protagonist in an oriental location.

Location and map of GTA 6 is among the most speculated features of the game. Some reports have suggested that Rockstar could combine maps from older games and make it one large map. That would however increase the size of the game on the harddisk. A leak earlier, purportedly from a former Rockstar employee, claimed to show that the game could be 68.78 GB on PS4.

Rockstar has not made an official announcement about the game but speculation suggests the game is under-production driving more rumors.
