The Milwaukee Bucks have announced that forward Jabari Parker is out for the season due to a torn left ACL. The team has not revealed when Parker will undergo surgery.

During Monday night's game against the Phoenix Suns, Parker, 19, injured his knee when he took an awkward step before colliding with Suns small forward, P.J. Tucker at 10:52 of the third quarter. He had to be carried off the court.

The former Duke basketball star was the second overall pick in the 2014 draft. He played in 25 games this season and has been putting up big numbers for the Bucks. Out of all the rookies, Parker was ranked second in scoring with 12.3 points per game and second in field goal percentage with a .490. He was in third place for rebound with 6.5 and minutes per game (29.5). Parker is the eighth rookie out of the 11 top picks to be injured so far this season.

Alexander Lasry, son of Bucks' executive Marc Lasry, tweeted: "Tough break but (Parker) will come back stronger and hungrier. Please join me in wishing him a speedy recovery."

Austin Rivers tweeted "Make sure yall pray for a speedy recovery for the young man @JabariParker ! Keep grinding bro!"

Parker was a part of the Bucks' rebuilding plan. After they got Parker, the Bucks hired coach Jason Kidd with the hopes of finishing above .500, something that they have not done since the 2003-04 season. With the season-ending injury, Ersan Ilyasova and Khris Middleton are expected to step up when needed.

The Bucks, who won a total of 15 games last season, are 13-12. They will play the Portland Trailblazers Wednesday.
