The penultimate episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' lived true to its teaser as we got to see two proposals and one hookup. And now the hookup is going to prove decisive in the thirteenth season.

Meredith and Riggs might not take it further, but their lovemaking will definitely have repercussion for the former. How? Well, her half-sister Maggie has a crush on Riggs and for a fair period of time, viewers thought that the two will hook up but something else was in store.

And it does not look like the fans are complaining. They found it steamy and cheered as Meredith fell for the smart doctor. However, Maggie will surely be hurt after knowing about it and the sisters will have to go through a good deal of pain and heartbreak after things come out in the open. The same holds true for Owen too, as he holds Riggs responsible for his sister's death and does not like him.

Actress Kelly McCreary, who plays Maggie, said in an interview about the hookup and said that she will be heartbroken after it comes to her knowledge. She added that the bond of the sisters will definitely be shaken but the ultimate question would be what Maggie values more; her relationship with Meredith or her desire to find true love. And then she also needs to find out if Riggs is the right match for her.

It may be mentioned here that Meredith's fling with Riggs was the second after her husband Derek's death. She slept with Will Thorpe and was frazzled after realizing that the hookup had the potential to mature into love. Also, Maggie is in a fragile phase as she recently broke up with DeLuca.

Well, all this will need time to sort out and thus, it is certain that the hookup's aftershocks will be felt in the next season as the current season has just the finale left. Viewers might also get to see more of Riggs and Meredith if the duo decides to take it further.
