UFC is quite often a different kettle of fish for professional wrestlers since it demands a completely different set of skills in order to become an effective fighter in the format, which is why it is often seen that the switch from WWE to UFC is not often as successful as one might hope. Over the years, plenty of big names have migrated from the WWE to the UFC but more often than not, they have had mixed success and the latest in that line is the former WWE champion and super star CM Punk who has struggled to make an impact at the high intensity world of UFC. When CM Punk joined the UFC, it seemed that it was an inspired move on the part of the star since his obvious skills as a wrestler would make him one of the biggest stars at MMA but over the past two years it has become painfully obvious that he is simply wasting his god given talent at something that he is not equipped to do well in.

Punk joined the UFC in 2014 but he has not made his debut yet and his training has not been up to the mark to warrant a big bout with any of the big names in MMA, which is without doubt a real shame considering the fact that he is well trained in different forms of martial arts like Brazilian jiu-jitsu among others. It is one thing that he has not been able to train himself into becoming a marquee performer but it is quite another when his miseries are now being multiplied with injuries and earlier this year, he had to get surgery on his shoulder ahead of his MMA debut and at the age of 37, it can be a pretty crippling blow. Punk expects to fight later on this year but it would be prudent on his part to retire from professional fighting since it is pretty clear that he is finding it difficult and tarnishing his own illustrious legacy.
