Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is the South Korean tech giant's forthcoming smartphone flagship. This past few months, rumors suggested that the handset device is pegged for a July launch and a release is expected sometime the following month. If last year's unveiling of Galaxy Note 5 in the same month is indicative of Samsung's decision this year, then the circulating information could prove to be accurate.

In a Twitter leak by Evan Blass, the Galaxy Note 6 is slated for US release on August 15. So unveiling the product in July and releasing it in August seems plausible.

In a related development, Techno Buffalo revealed that the device is almost complete as Samsung readies to work on its software. Insider sources indicate that the company do not necessarily start the development of the device's firmware until the physical design has been completed.

Although no word has come out from the horse's mouth, rumors indicate that the Note 6 smartphone will arrive with IP68-certified dust and water resistance protection according to Softpedia. Furthermore, other interesting features include an iris scanner for additional security and a 5.8-inch Quad HD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels. The device is purportedly designed to run on Android N, Google's major OS update for Android devices.

When it comes to internal specs, the smartphone could also come in with new and powerful Snapdragon 823 chipset, a generous 6GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a longer battery life (4000mAh), USB-C port plus an upgraded S Pen stylus.

If rumors prove correct, tech consumers may expect to see two variants of the said device. The company might launch a lite variant of the phablet with roughly the same display size as the main but with a lower 1080p resolution. The processing power of the lite variant may not also be as powerful as the main device with RAM offering of just 4GB.
