Season 12 of Grey's Anatomy will wind up next week, leaving a trail of sadness behind as fans simply love the ABC medical drama. But the way the penultimate episode ended, there are ample reasons to feel happy and fans will definitely remember it for long.

A lot happened in "At Last" with proposals, hookup, death and breakup affecting the lives of the residents at Grey Sloan. The episode was a complete mélange of emotions with love, joy, grief, passion surfacing in different characters. It was pleasing to see Amelia and Owen in such a blissful state, exchanging flirty glances and getting intimate in the on-call room. And lastly, the proposal happened when she asked him in the driveway of his newly-purchased house.

But Meredith did not seem to like any of it and she snapped at Amelia. She feels that Amelia is living a life that Derek did not get to and that she does not deserve it. She yells at her for not being Derek. Later, Nathan questions Meredith about her troubles and they come to blows and then end up making out together in the parking lot of the hospital.

On the other hand, Kyle passes away in a tragic death after Amelia could not save him during the risky surgery. Stephanie did try to mend their bond before the surgery and they also exchanged a sweet kiss. But it ended tragically. Stephanie watched everything from the viewing station and when Amelia sensed that her plans are not going to work, she asked Jo to get her out of there but before she could reach Stephanie, Kyle was gone. The heartbroken Stephanie refused to acknowledge Amelia's apology.

As for Jo and Alex, they did not make any headway. Alex told her that he is ready for marriage and wants an answer from her. He proposes to her, but she says she can't to which he says, she could. And it ends up there, hanging in the air.
