According to news reports, in a shocking turn of events, Leonard's father, Alfred and Sheldon's mother, Mary, will fall for each other. "An unexpected attraction springs up between Sheldon's father and Leonard's mother," said "The Big Bang Theory" executive producer, Steve Molaro.

Alfred is an attractive man who shares a love-hate relationship with his Beverly, Leonard's mother. "There [is] a shared dislike of Beverly and a genuine fondness of each other," Steve Molaro added.

It is easy to assume that if Mary and Alfred get involved together and eventually get married, the two long time best friends and scientists will end becoming step-brothers. In previous episode, Beverly complains to Penny (Kaley Cuoco) that she resents not being invited to her own son's wedding in Las Vegas.

This is when Penny considers that this will be an ideal time to marry Leonard again in a formal affair and this time in presence of their families as well as friends. This is when Leonard's father, Alfred, will be shown for the first time. According to Steve Molaro, Judd Hirsch is the perfect guy to play Leonard's dad.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that in season 10 of "The Big Bang Theory," Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) too might get engaged or start living together. For now, their relationship is not ready for the next level.

Amy and Sheldon are in a "great place" for now and if things are right between them, the next level will happen too. Steve Molaro added that they will do all they can to make the next season "as great as it can be."
